In the early 1920's, fresh from a St. Ansgar, Iowa family farm, William Lippert, Sr. came to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to make his start as a ceramic tile installer. In Milwaukee he found his craft and his wife. Together they started a family of eight children, and eventually a family business. In the meantime, he accumulated the nearly 30 years of expertise as a tradesman that would define his career to his many friends, employers, customers, and family.
In 1949, to provide his eldest son the opportunity to enter the trade as an apprentice, William Sr. left his longtime employer to strike out on his own as a residential tile contractor. Bill Lippert, Jr. joined the company then, and was followed by his brothers; Al in 1955, Wayne in 1960, and Gary in 1961. The values established at our founding still guide us three generations later; integrity, craftsmanship, and responsive service.
Lippert Tile Company, Inc. is currently owned and managed by Al's sons; Les, as President, and Jeff, as Executive Vice President, both joining the firm in 1982.
In January of 1992, Lippert Tile purchased the former Boelkow Floors, Inc. to add carpeting and resilient capabilities to the commercial tile and stone services offered. We now employ more than 80 union trained craft workers capable of the most technical work in their respective trades. Our capabilities have continued to grow. We now provide office furniture systems lift, and the lift and moving of library book shelving for the replacement of flooring. We also furnish and install hardwood and engineered wood floors of all types.
Our staff consists of eight outstanding estimators who possess the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to accurately and quickly determine the scope of any project, large or small. Our four project managers, all with practical experience in the field, schedule and supervise our work, deliveries, and manpower. Our administrative staff of five oversees all aspects of accounting, job costing, support, and communication.
Our company furnishes and installs ceramic & quarry tile, marble, carpeting, resilient flooring, all types of wood floors, and provides lift services to the commercial construction market of southeastern Wisconsin.
